Since February is coming to an end and it’s a new year, I thought I would start a favorites for every month. Maybe once I build an audience I will be courageous enough to switch to youtube.
My first thing is Pond’s cleansing and exfoliating towlettes. I know a lot of people say it’s bad to exfoliate your face every day, but I prefer to at least have some mild exfoliation in my life. I have to say, I almost prefer using these wipes to cleaning my face in the shower! It has one side with exfoliating beads built into the wipe, and the other side is smooth so you can remove your makeup. It has an awesome citrus and cucumber scent, and it definitely removes all my makeup! My favorite part about these is how my skin feels afterwards (amazing!!) I would definitely recommend these for people on the go or when you don’t have time to wash your face.
My next favorite has to be Lancome’s Hypnose Drama mascara. It’s the only mascara that has even given me some slight volume and length. I’ve only gotten samples at Sephora, since this mascara is over a whopping $30 dollars - I don’t want to have to pay quite that much simply for the name brand. I have over 20 mascaras in my makeup box at the moment- out of all of them this is my favorite. So I suppose sometimes it’s worth spending the extra $$.
Last up is Sephora brand face cream, which is think is around $10. There isn’t very much in the jar, but a little goes a long way. For the price it’s a cream that stands up well to the more expensive brands of face cream, and it’s oil free, which is a bonus for oily skin. It’s great for the times when it’s not too dry (it gets very dry in winter where I live, so It’s not perfect for the windy days) I love the feel of this cream and it has a pleasant smell. For anyone on a budget I can say this is a safe purchase.
I have two disappointments for the month of Feb, and here they are!:
Sephora Collection color Lip Last- $15.00 In No 21- Meet My Pink. I love the color of this, but as the name says Lip Last, I tend to disagree! I hate reapplying lip stick, and I am always in search of a super dry, super matte, as I know they are long lasting and tend to feather a lot less (I have a fiance to kiss!) Though I suppose It shouldn’t be compared to NARS’s velvet Matte lipsticks (which I HIGHLY recommend, despite the price tag) This lip color feathers and wears away quickly, While less drying than Nars, to me the length of time it stuck around was not good enough. However, I do recommend this over a creme lipstick.
My second is Dove Visably Smooth anti-perspirant, which claims to minimize the visual appearance of hair over time. Definitely not true, If anything, I have found that I actually have to shave more often! The scent was “nature fresh” But to me it smelled like it had a hint of baby powder, which is a smell I HATE. (this was given to me in my Christmas stoking) It may have prevented some sweat from occuring, but it didn’t mask the smell of sweat, thereby it was a useless product to me!
That’s all for this, thanks for reading and following my blog!
